May 25, 2013 Meeting

thanks again to lu and lyman for hosting us last night, and for making that yummy ciappino. very tasty.

we gave gone girl a 3-star rating and wife 22 2-star (thanks for mary for her calculating skills!).

sorry i had to duck out before the end of our vigorous discussion on cultural assimilation. that's what i love about our meetings...our conversations run the whole gamut. i feel so privileged to be among such an intelligent and aware group of women.

next books...we picked three, because one is very short: orphan master's son by adam johnson nothing to envy by barbara demick escape from camp 14 by blaine harden

all three involve korea and kathy, who is hosting next meeting on july 6, has promised to make us some authentic food, and we'll try to help as best we can.

also, starting at our next meeting, we will start the rotation for book selection among each member. perhaps we can draw names out of a hat to determine the order.
